What is a Reformed church?
“Reformed” simply means we stand in the tradition of the Protestant Reformation, which sought to bring the church back to Scripture. We believe:
Scripture Alone — the Bible is God’s Word, and nothing needs to be added.
Grace Alone — salvation is God’s free gift.
Faith Alone — we receive that gift by trusting in Christ.
Christ Alone — He is the only mediator between God and man.
God’s Glory Alone — everything exists to honor Him.
What is a Presbyterian church?
The word Presbyterian comes from the Greek word presbyteros, meaning elder.
A Presbyterian church is led by a group of elders, rather than by a single pastor, following the pattern of church leadership found in the New Testament.
Our particular denomination (PCA) emphasizes:
God’s Sovereignty — He rules over all things for His glory and our good.
The Authority of Scripture — The Bible alone is our ultimate standard for faith and life.
Word-Centered Worship — Our services focus on the reading, preaching, praying, and singing of God’s Word.
